Things have finally started to slow down.  It has been a very busy fall!  I received a neat idea that I am excited to share with you.  Someone received the Nativity Christmas Cards from a friend and decided to make them 3D.  What a fun and interactive way to display the nativity.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Blessed New Year!

I am so excited about my new necklace I couldn’t wait to share it with you. Blue Girl Beading Company makes beautiful custom jewelry. I’ve been wanting to do something special in memory of the babies that we have lost and now have a beatiful piece of jewelry to remember them by. It is a copper pendant that says, “Cherish each moment”. The saying is hand stamped onto the pendant and has a birthstone of the months we lost the babies. I just love it!!

Check out their website or when you are in Gulf Shores stop by their store and have them create a wonderful piece of jewelry for you.

My sweet husband took this “wonderful” picture of me sporting my new necklace.

My sweet nephew, Cooper, stopped by our booth to help me a little bit. I just had to show him off.

Today has been a windy day! We’ve been busy trying to keep my pieces on the table. We had a little rain shower this afternoon, but we are really trying to stay cool and not fly away. I cannot complain about the wind too much because it has really helped us stay much cooler than yesterday.

The picture is the sea of white tent tops. That’s the only thing you can see from outside the public beach restrooms of all places. It’s the only place thar I could get high enough to take a good picture.

The Shrimp Festival has 2 more days. We hope that they are dry!

It’s hard to believe it’s October right now when I am sitting outside in 100 degree weather. The Shrimp Festival in Gulf Shores started today and they couldn’t have ordered warmer weather! We are melting. I cannot wait for the sun to go down!!
If you are in Gulf Shores and don’t mind the heat, be sure to stop by.

This week I am going to be in Gardendale at Gardendale-Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church for the Kingdom Kids Consignment Sale. If you live around the area, be sure to stop by to shop.  The money raised from the Consignment Sale will be going to missions.  I look forward to seeing you there.

september 2009 012Saturday was such a nasty day.  It rained, and rained, and rained…  We were in Leeds, Alabama, for a show this weekend.  For the first time, I had to leave a show early.  It was raining so much that the water was leaking through my tent getting all of my pieces wet.  I was almost on the verge of tears from watching my product ruin from all of the water, when my mom started singing the song that I posted on Saturday to make me laugh.  I finally had to make the hard decision to leave during the middle of the show.  I couldn’t afford to lose all of my pieces.  Each piece is packaged in plastic bags, but the water was leaking through the seal.

The pictures are all of my pieces drying out.  My parent’s upstairs has been overtaken by all of my pieces.  I am hoping that I didn’t lose to many of my pieces.  We’ll see in a few days. september 2009 013

Rain rain go away! That is my motto today. We are at the Leeds Folk Festival and are soaked. Our tent is now leaking from all of the rain and I cannot keep my pieces dry. My mom has now made up a song for today. Sung to the tune of “On Top of Ole Smoky”.
verse 1: “In Leeds Alabama all soaked to the bone. Hadn’t made no money. Ready to go home.”
verse 2: “Looked at the radar. Ain’t nothin but rain. Can’t hear thunder for that dern train.”
The picture is after some of the flooding has actually drained.

The NEACFS (National Extension Association of Family & Consumer Sciences) is having their Annual Session in Birmingham this week.  We had the opportunity to get to meet some of the members at Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park.  They had quite a few vendors from around Alabama come to the park to sell their products.  It was a little warm, but the rain held out for us and we had a great time.

Just took the cutest picture of my one of my dogs. She’s on our front porch watching everything. It cracks me up how she always does this!
